Call for Tutorials

 ICMHI 2020 will feature pre-conference tutorials addressing fundamental and emerging topics in health informatics. We welcome proposals for tutorials on either core health informatics topics or topics of health informatics applications or software for facilitating the management, delivery, and research of healthcare. Tutorials are solicited on any subject pertaining to the scope of the conference that includes, but is not limited to, the major topics of ICMHI. We will consider any topic, provided that the proposal makes a strong argument that the tutorial is important for the ICMHI participants.

 An ICMHI tutorial should provide a balanced overview of an area of research. The proposal should not exceed three pages in 1.5 space, Times 12 point font submitted in PDF format. The tutorial format (preliminary) is 1 hour and 30 minutes with a 10-minute break. A hands-on tutorial is highly encouraged, and the tutorial can be extended to 3 hours if needed. Proposals should include the following information:

l   Title

l   Abstract (up to 250 words)

l   Description and outline: What material will the tutorial cover and in what depth?

l   Goals: What are the objectives of the tutorial? What is the benefit to attendees?

l   Target audience: What is the target audience? What background should attendees have?

l   Presenters: Please provide names, affiliations, email addresses, and short bios for each presenter. All presenters listed in the proposal are expected to attend.

l   Expected section length (1.5 to 3 hours)

l   Links to the presenter/organizer web page or the tutorial page (optional)

Call for Special Session Proposals

ICMHI 2020 solicits proposals for special sessions within the technical scope of the conference. The purpose of these special sessions is to provide a forum for focused discussions on special topics or emerging applications of established approaches. Special-session proposals should be submitted by the prospective organizer. Each session should have a minimum of 5 papers that will not be subject to the regular review cycle, the session organizers have full authority in soliciting and accepting papers for the session. The allocated presentation time is 15 minutes for contributed paper that includes the time for questions from the audience.

Proposal submissions
Papers submitted to special sessions will have to be evaluated and peer-reviewed along the very same criteria of the regular sessions. All submitted full paper will have opportunities for consideration for the Special Journal Issue (SCI/SSCI/EI/EconLit). The final decision for paper selection will be made based on peer review reports by the Guest Editors. Proposals should include the following information:

  • Session Title
  • Name(s) of organizer(s) and chair(s)
  • Email of main contact person
  • Brief bio(s) of organizer(s) and chair(s)
  • Related topics
  • Potential participants
  • Important Dates

  • Submission of proposals: January 5, 2020
